live in VA and work in Rockville, MD... Maryland is one big armpit.
their traffic camera laws should be thrown out.. got a speeding ticket for 10 miles over...
only places i really like going to in MD is to Camden Yards to see my Orioles play (except for the fact that they suck) and going to see my Redskins play (STADIUM SHOULD BE IN DC, NOT MD!!!)
oh, i love going to Ocean City... so many things to laugh at
- 10 miles is speeding though?version3
- Points earned for supporting a hard-to-love team.blaw
- Camden Yard is awesome. Started the whole throwback baseball field which was just ruined by NY collectively.flavorful
- Ocean City is fucking hilarious.flavorful
- 10 miles over is speeding, but i should have the right to be pulled over by a police officer not by a camera (stalking everyone)... also my car was in the shop around the time the photo was taken in that area.. so i dont know if i was driving it (when i dropped car off)or the repair shop guy was driving it..slinky

- the cameras don't take your picture unless you're going 15 over...plus they're being added in VA so do enjoy when you party in Clarendon.connector-Y

I went to high school in Charles County. When we moved there, it was just turning from tobacco country to Washington bedroom communities; they were turning fields into subdivisions pretty much overnight.
The major underage teen activity back then was hanging out in the Burger King parking lot, with your car doors open, blasting music; hoping that someone's older brother or sister would buy you some beers so you could go to the woods or to one of the man-made lakes in the subdivisions to get drunk.
Friend of mine worked at a tire place in Waldorf on the weekends. Guy he worked with, a true maryland redneck, was inflating a tire on a van when the thing blew up in his face. Faulty rim, had a crack in it. Tore his face apart, needed 70-some stitches to put it back together again and he lost an eye. He ended up suing the rim company, settled out of court and got a pretty large sum of money, not sure how much, but it was rumored to be $2-3 million.
I moved away to college soon after, but as far as i know, the only thing he changed was that he bought a yellow lamborghini diablo to hang out at the burger king parking lot with; still lived with his mom, still had the non-ironic mullet, still wore iron maiden t-shirts with the sleeves cut off. That, and the eye patch.- and he kept his job at the tire place.Greedo

Maryland houses the Preakness which is basically what a roman orgy that is masked by well-to-do people in expensive hats, drinking expensive mint juleps, with horses running around a track which encompasses the most fucked up things you could ever witness occurring fifty times over and you don't bat an eyelash.
For the Preakness alone ... Maryland is okay in my book.
- hahah again i've never been.
my friend went 3 years in a row and said he never saw 1 single horse7point34

I like the fact that basically everywhere you go there are places on the water!

This thread really shows that some people don't like Maryland for no good reason. Every state has small towns where there isn't much to do and in general you can move away or wait until you're 21 to get in good places.
I grew up in Rockville and have worked in DC, VA and MD. Have also lived in VA for over 4 years along with Kensington and Silver Spring MD. Its the DC suburbs; there are tons of bars, clubs and shopping centers everywhere. Tons of crossover from any one state to the other two.
You need a few people to get the whole story. Plus Baltimore and Annapolis are great places for a day trip.
- Frederick, Ellicott City, and even Hagerstown are fun places to visit. I grew up in Westminster... it was pretty nice, really.dablammit

All you haters don't know anything about the place. MD is a great place to be.

please, do not attempt to inject sincerity into this thread.
it derails so nicely on it's own.
