Hi!
My name is Geir Helgi and I'm from Reykjavík, Iceland.
I'm a graphic designer and an artist.
I'm 22 years old.
I just moved to New York.I'm looking for some work while I stay in NYC (3 months).
I have a B.A. in visual communications from the Iceland Academy of the Arts.
Here's my Resume/C.V.:

his work can be found here:
httP://www.geirhelgi.cOm- I typically like esoteric designers - but this borders on being a bit TOO much so for my tastes... Im only one guy tho - g'luck budidentity

Is Iceland still all messed up? I heard the government was going to collapse, and all the people were in deep trouble and only Björk could save them. Are things okay now?

those flashy gifs are making my eyes hurt. no need for that.
i think that will distract people from looking through your work..

I really like the work, doesn't look very commercially viable though :( good luck hope you find somewhere.

i like your concepts/approach. i just feel that the site is trying to dress it up too much. could be more like hort or something...

Thanks!
I mean, I can do the "commercial" stuff as well, I used to work at one of Iceland's biggest and most respected advertising agencies; Hvíta Húsið (The White House) and I worked as an in-house graphic design for one of Europe's biggest engineering companies; Línuhönnun.
The thing is, I realized I belong more in the arts department than graphic design so all my work tends to lean more towards that side of graphic design (the border between art and design?).
Anyways, thanks for the comments :)

oh, I might be going to L.A. for one month!
Any work there?- less then N.Y. i would say.akrokdesign
- but that shouldn't stop you.akrokdesign

i would say you got too much stuff going on. also 9 of 10 work is art. not feeling the designer part so much.
ex. the flyer is all flat and has no boarders. if you would had a printer version and photograph is, it would had made more sense. unless, it was a online flyer.

Try contacting some agencies and ask if they need a freelancer.
Since they will want to have a look at your portfolio, it's not a bad idea to update it, as people already suggested. Get your latest and best work in there, preferably right at the top. I'd get rid of the blinking GIFs and establish some sort of hierarchy in your content, for easier navigation and clarity.

First thing I would ask is.. Do you have proper visa to work in this country?
