Has anyone used Priceline for a hotel?
I just put a bid in on a room for $50 a night at a 3 1/2 star hotel. If one accepts and it's a shitty room or smoking etc. am I committed? I want to know if this is really worth it.

you have to commit once you do their name your own price thing. I've gotten some hefty deals on there.

name a super low price and you can't go wrong. worst thing that'll happen is they wont accept your offer or you get a 3am flight.

if you name your hotel, your price, and the number of stars you want to stay at - you're golden. priceline is great. It's saved me a lot of cash.
You can't pick your hotel and yes you're stuck with it once they give it to you, but you can choose your region - and you can quickly check the hotels in that area.
I got a stay at a swanky toronto hotel once for me and my gf (now my wife) and saved well over $200 a night.

And they asked when I got there if I wanted a smoking or non-smoking room. The only shit thing is that I've found the people at the hotel resent the fact that you got the room for so cheap (they must know somehow) and treat you differently because of it.
