I just dented the hell out of my Canon 700is on a recent mountaineering trip. Ended up separating the body from the lens casing so I think it's only a matter of time before debris gets in there and fucks it all up. :(
It took great shots so I think I'll be sticking with Canon. Here are some shots from the trip:

I've been using a friend's lumix and it's an awesome tough camera. The startup time before it's ready to take photos is almost instantaneous as well, so I'd highly recommend them.
Personally I have a Canon 870IS and I love it. Beautiful quality photos, good wide angle lens, great price ('cos it's a bit older now).

I'm looking to buy a new point and shoot as well, these lumix cameras, is it true they share some of the same main components as some Leica point and shoot or something?
- brains0
Actually, bizzump, does the FS6 lumix actually have a leica lens or is it only the newer ones?

I'm either going cheap and getting this one:

http://www.londondrugs.com/Cultu…Do they both have Leica parts or is it just the FS-7?
- Nope think they all have leica lenses. Its basically a leica with a panasonic body. Ive got the DMZ F12 (or something)ian

I say rent. If you buy something cheap, you'll never use it again and then regret it.
