i just threw up in my mouth after reading this news. I have an idea, why don't they also remake The Shining and Clockwork Orange as well. Hey, what the hell right? Get that kid from Twilight in there....

I wanted to share this with you because, you are a shoe-in for the alien. There would be very little need for makeup or costume effects if you landed this role. Think about it: every inch of your body is offensive and frightening to look at. You elicit fear in the eyes of just about everyone who crosses your path. Your hair looks like tentacles of death when you slick it back with all that goo, and your enormous shoulders are enough to make most people faint on the spot from pure terror. Your voice (while not purely frightening in any way) causes bystanders ears to perk up instantly: they know you lurk around every corner, and they are terrified.
Do whatever you can to get in touch with the right people and audition for this role.

Alien is perfect as it is. Why would they do that? The special effects, for whenever it was, early 80s, hold up great. The story, the tone, the acting, the look of it...all awesome. And of course Sigourney.

I just saw that they were remaking Clash of the Titans.. the charm of that movie is the Harryhausen models.. I still remember seeing a double feature when i was little at the theatre of Clash of the Titans and Ralph Bakshi Lord of the Rings.. so awesome..

Aliens was the first movie that scared the shit out of me as a kid. The scene when they have to slide down the chute. Holy fuck. Nothing happened but for years I wouldn't go down an enclosed slide.
The Thing was the second movie that scared the shit out of me.

Haha, yep, the Thing scared the ever-loving fuck out of me. I had a fear of wolves as a kid because of that movie.
I saw Aliens before I saw Alien as a kid, and even now it's my personal favorite. I remember the first time I saw it, I only caught the last 10 minutes of it from my Dad, and it was when Bishop was speared and puking that milkish-fluid everywhere. I had absolutely no idea what was going on, no context to anything, and was absolutely terrified o fit.

I understand remaking movies if they weren't well done, but I can't even imagine improving on Alien.
This happened with Bad News Bears also. The original was perfection.

instant FAIL even getting beyond a storyboard of remaking this classic.
No doubt that call up with the usual bullshit about, trying to stay true to the original writers concept.That fuckin scene in alien when it pans to the onlooking crew after the chestburster scene is classic.
And ripley getting snug in that spacesuit near the end.. hubba hubba...:)
I was always hoping they'd make Alien 3 more like the graphicnovel sequel.
