I need to put together a demo of some software on my desktop and want to record my actions and then output that whole recording into a compressed video file format to ultimately be converted to an flv for web use.
Never done anything like this before. Google's giving me a few results, but I'd like some opinions if any of you have used this shit before.

Try 1AVCapture. It captures audio and video from your desktop directly to compressed WMV and it allows you to configure the quality/size ratio so you can generate a really small file for full desktop recording.
