I'm new to AS3 and I'm still struggling with its demands. I'm trying to get the classpath set for any of Papervision's code to work. Here is what I have
The flash file is from a tutorial. Can anyone spot what I'm doing wrong. Isn't the target button supposed to be failproof? Is there a difference in how you do it in CS4? Do I have to put the code in a special place?

hey man, i've no idea but these forums seem like a good place to try also. i'm fairly sure AS3 is exactly the same whether you're using CS3 or 4 so it's a AS3 issue not a Flash versioning issue. i think.
- srry that's no real help but getting the question out to as many peeps might get a solution faster.airey

Are you using cs4 there ?
As unfamiliar as I am with that, I can't imagine it's vastly different to cs3...
There should be an icon there that will allow you to explore to the papervision classes -
I am assuming that you have them within a folder somewhere, and you're using like svn to get them all synced up..
I believe I have my IDE pointed at:
C:\Documents and Settings\MeTheUser\Desktop\paper...- ..\papervision_svn \ as3 \ trunk \ src
sorry..mikotondria3
- ..\papervision_svn \ as3 \ trunk \ src

I'm on a mac, but I didn't use subversion to install. I didn't think you had to do it that way. I thought you could just put the folder anywhere you wanted and just point to it like I showed in the screen shot.

If I want to try using the swc instead of the zipped up folder directory, where should I put that? God, why to they make this so unnecessarily complicated?

unneccesarily complicated??? Hahah. Its complicated as hell, but thats the name of the game....
Why dont you just check out a working copy from the repo and use the source rather than the swc? Its easier to debug when you have issues like this
Its super easy.....just open terminal and type:
svn checkout http://papervision3d.googlecode.… ~/Desktop/pv3d
It will download the papervision trunk as well as the main release tags plus a ton of examples to your desktop.
I found that many of the examples on the net were actually for release 1.7 (which you can find in the tags directory) so if you are still having issues it might be a version issue.
