Can anyone tell me why a Flash animation published for Flash 8 might not work in Firefox 3? What could cause something like that? Doesn't seem like it could have anything to do with the Flash file itself.
Here's the code for the Flash. I didnt make this, trying to help someone at work.
<div style="position:relative;z-index:1;margin-top:3px;">
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=5,0,0,0" width="640" height="142">
<param name="movie" value="/images/usdotcomflash3.swf" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="z-index" value="1000" />
<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
<a href="#" ><img src="" width="641" height="142" alt="" /></a>
</object>
</div>

Wait, look at this:
<param name="z-index" value="1000" />
Value 1000? Is that normal?

<a href="#" ><img src="" width="641" height="142" alt="" /></a>
- Oh, the img src should have the path to the flash right?CygnusZero4

z index should be fine, it just puts it above anything else, or with a lower z index.
That image link looks wrong

try to delete the transparent wmode thingie this causes bugs under FF
might not be that tho
- Shaney0
wmode = opaque is less cpu intensive, transparent should work fine though.

strip all that crap off there and try this:
<object width="550" height="400">
<param name="movie" value="somefilename.swf">
<embed src="somefilename.swf" width="550" height="400">
</embed>
</object>

Maybe it doesn't work because nothing is ever embedded? You have the OBJECT tag, but no EMBED tag for your movie.
