If you are looking for the real oldschool machined pattern look without using illy, then its best to talk to whatever shop you will be working with to see what they have laying around.

the emboss/deboss is an important feature, in many instances the pressed character is unique to how the pattern is shaped as well - thickness etc.

why only letterpress examples of pattern? kinda specific. just squint your eyes and imagine a little depth.
