Hi!
i posted this question yesterday but no one had the answer and i think alot of people already went home for the day, so i would like to post it again. -I'm trying to recreate a blur effect in illustrator. the regular gaussian blur doesn't work. i need it to look more dark and crushed, like this:

can anyone help me? Thanks!

have you tried an inner glow?
- youll have to mess with the grays and opacities, but it might give you this effect.baseline_shift

yeah- the inner and outer glow don't work. i'm experimenting on a combo of layering gaussian blur and outer glow effects but i'm not getting the same look.
- i would be surprised if this was made in illi. why does it have to be in pshop?baseline_shift

Why are you trying to create it in Illustrator?
- Leave blurs to Photoshop, aka the Blur Machine.monospaced

i have to add ".com" to a logo for overall usage in branding a company. the original blur was created in illustrator and used as some kind of opacity mask.
i agree that photoshop would work best and be so simple but i can't do that in this instance, unfortunately.
