i'm looking for a vendor who does small production runs (100s) of melamine plates. preferably in the US. i've found one in pennsylvania but i'm looking for more options. any leads would be most helpful. thanks!

china has a malamine addiction if you're keen, especially in baby food...

does it have to be something so toxic?
Also melamine is not microwaveable. I'm not sure you can safely wash it in the dishwasher either.
What are the plates for? I'm sure you could find a more environmentally friendly alternative.

Hmm... should have done a little more research before basing some my post on 10yr old information (I used to work in the recycling field)

apparently Melamine is non-toxic (but tell that to all the babies that died drinking formula laced with it).
- that was more the chinese company being dodgy. it's not meant to be ingested en-masse.airey

More info on Melamine for food use and also stainless steel alternatives.

My main issue with Melamine is that it is more often than not mixed with the cheaper formaldehyde resins. And formaldehyde is not a chemical you want in your system.
