- As much as everyone knows on here. Doesn't anyone know iWeb when you see it?hubb7designs
- Who the fuck would use iWeb?TheBlueOne
- Oh I see it! the problem for you is: You don't see a problem with it.plash
- Someone who doesn't know HTML, CSS, Cold fusion or any others. Doesn't everyone start somewhere?hubb7designs
- sure! and you're gonna fuck yourself by not learning them now. just stick with xhtml/css for startersplash
- Thanks for the advice.hubb7designs

Shit. Man. It kills me when people ask for my thoughts on work like this.
- PIITB0
so if someone wants you to make them a website for $400 will you open up iWeb and create it from there????
- No no... I have been studying up and learning more "code" since this site got put up.hubb7designs

iWeb...
I suggest you take some courses, and try and learn the principles of great design as utilised by people such as Saul Bass, Paul Rand, Otl Aicher, Michael Beirut etc etc etc.

"Someone who doesn't know HTML, CSS, Cold fusion or any others. Doesn't everyone start somewhere?"
Sure, but when you are at that point you generally don't charge people to do work Unless you're the proverbial 14 year old kid that's the son of my past client who could supposedly do what I do.
- Amicus0
I want to be fair, but if you can't learn under a decent designer like I did you really need to get some solid design education.
- Looked on your profile. But I don't see any website? Examples of your work would be nice to see.hubb7designs
- I prefer to remain anonymous, but thanks for asking.Amicus
- Oh, and it's more to do with a stalker ex than my skills.Amicus
- Ah, the ol "where's your work?" line...mg33
- haha, People on here really like to think everything is a negative. I was only asking to see the work of true professionals. I have been looking for a site like QBN for a while to be able to network with Real Graphic Artist who know their stuff.hubb7designs

""code""?

start using tools of the trade.
get to know xhtml/css.. iWeb might seem like a good idea now but it is actually holding you back .. get to know your tools before you set in those bad habits.- I really appreciate you advice. And I'm already working towards this. Question: Is html the basic version of xhtml?hubb7designs
- robothate0
ugh.
- mg330
If, as a client, I found out you used something like iWeb, and drag and drop widgets, I'd sue you.
- So you're saying that you'd like a website designed?hubb7designs
- Yes, and I'd like to know I was getting my money's worth, not getting corners cut with something like iWeb.mg33

@hubb.
a 5min video about keep content and format separate.- Is this Twitter? Does the @ symbol work the same on here?hubb7designs
- no, comment directed @ (at) you..plash
- Gotcha. Just making sure. This is day 1 for me on QBN. Thanks for the video. I'll be sure to watch and learn.hubb7designs
- I always like watching this video.

And, to actually be helpful...
Once you learn some basic HTML/XHTML and CSS, download the web dev toolbar for Firefox and use Edit CSS mode to play around with some basic aspects of CSS. That's how I started out several years ago.
In fact, most sites I've built recently have been built almost entirely in Firefox.
- Thanks MG33! Someone also recommended a book called, "Mastery of CSS." Heard of it?hubb7designs

Look man, in the spirit of offering some honest advice, my 2 cents -
What you are showing on your site and your naivete regarding basic industry tools and terms is on a par with someone figuring out how to change the windshield wipers on a car and then sticking a sign that says "Mechanic" on their garage.
Being interested and wanting to learn is great, but throwing it around like you're a seasoned pro ain't right and pisses people off.If you do not get some real training and spend real time learning, here's what's going to happen- Someone will hire you for something. It's going to go very very wrong at some point, and you will be fired, or sued, and any reputation you start to build will be gone in a second.
I urge you to take some courses with regard to design and the technology used on the web.
- and pull the website.********
- I agree with what you are saying. I have only designed website for some of my families business, and they were happy. Hubb 7 is not my livelyhood, and I want to study and learn much more so I can do all the amazing things that I have seen on the web. Thanks for the honestly... really.hubb7designs
- and pull the website.
