Ok, i find out my model is a Two Quad-Core Intel Xeon 5400 Series 800MHz DDR2 ECC FB-DIMM ... but the Apple Store doesnt sell those anymore. Where can I buy that online?

as ismith says you don't have to use matched pairs apparently but if you don't the chances of erratic bahaviour and less that stellar operating speeds is amplified. some people might be fine some won't. usually i go with what the experts say creates optimum performance vs. someone who really want's to 'rebel' but not doing 'what the man tells me'.

don't ever buy ram from apple. it's about 4x the price. go ebay or online retailers. just make sure you're buying the right ram.
i buy here lately but i'm in aus - at least they can tell you what ram you should buy:
http://www.streetwise.com.au/mem…- mac pro ram is considered server ram by the pc sellers. i can't remeber the correct term though.airey

I found what I need there:
http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/m…8.0Gb of RAM for 200$
Should be a good thing, since I only got 2.0Gb right now.- I like MacSales a lot, always used them for my RAM. Go for it.ismith
