It is the most overused word out there for quite some time now. From songs -whether pop, hip hop or rock- to tv shows, commercials, radio, print...everywhere!
How did it become so mainstream? Am I the only one that hates it?
- tgqt0
You hate it more than 'saavy'?

I've never heard anyone use it either. But I also pay absolute zero attention to main stream music and youth culture. Is it heavy rotation now? Is it like how for a while white teenagers adopted the UK phrase "sorted out," as in "we'll get you sorted out?"
- *looks around sheepishly.
i use that phrase...7point34 - as part of your overall swagger?harlequino

no, I am serious about this. Maybe it's because I've been exposed to too much pop-ish shit... just listen to the radio, every freakin song uses it...

is this a new word over there stateside? over here its just a word, you know, part of the lexicon
- to be honest, other than that old spice campaign, i havent really noticed it.baseline_shift
- it's not a new word, it's just getting fucking abused as if it's the adjective of the last century.Point5

^funny. Was reminded of this earlier, but had no reason to mention it. Was listening to a local college station last week, and these DJ girls kept saying "that's not really part of my LEXICON."
I feel like I now have to remove 'lexicon' from my lexicon.

Swagger made a comeback like three years ago, however, it took awhile to make it mainstream. But yes, this word is overused.
I don't listen to the radio, so I don't know what shite music is using it now, I imagine a lot. However, watching even CNN they talk about politicians having swagger and the like, and they use it in such a fucked up way that you know the word is dead, haha.
