What were the dates and terms of your termination/resignation? Is there a loophole they're utilizing or are they just being assholes? Have they responded to your requests for it at all?

contact an employment lawyer.

screw that! contact your state employment office and file a claim. Try to contact them personally and explain the situation, a friend of mine went through the same issue with his ex employer, called the state's employment or labor department and complained. They contacted his ex employer 5 minutes after, and withing 20 minutes he received an email from the owner of the company letting him know the check was being mailed overnight. We were surprised at how fast it worked. Try it.

i have a friend that is going through this right now, went through the state filed a claim, they send a letter and then set a court date. if they really don't want to pay you they just don't respond to letter then don't show to court date, i would try as hard as you can to contact, stop by in person and write up a fancy letter yourself before getting state involved it is a long process that will doubtfully have results if they aren't planning on paying you.
