Can i reformat this machine, bootcamp me a win partition and then timemachine everything back as it was before. Except now having a bootcamp partition?
i heard if you crawled into the disk drive you could actually travel in time to when people looked shit up themselves
comon im really zonked tonight i cant be arsed to look everything up. i dont wanna leave the qbn tab tonight
i didn't think they recommended bootcamp partitions anywho? i got an extra internal drive for mine. i realise this doesn't answer the question (sorry), just thought i'd ask.
i just felt very strongly about playing cod4 instead of trying to mock this 11x17 poster up. but i dont have a osx version
why not just do a proper backup?
wouldnt timemachine be sort of a 3 click procedure? it already has the whole drive backed up.
yes? no idea if TM can back up big bits like drives. best to open up time machine and see if the option to restore a whole disk is available.
BTW: how the hell are you going to bootcamp if you don't have an OSX bit after you reformat
uh no. bootcamp wont let me make a win partition right now because it cant move certain files on the harddrive. so i figured id have to reformat with osx, bootcamp a win partition before it gets cluttered with immovable files. and then put my stuff back from the timemachine drive
Time Machine doesn't restore system to the same point, some stuff goes missing. There are articles on it.
I understand you cannot install bootcamp due to disk fragmentation?
Here's what you do: either simply defragment the drive or clone it to another drive and then clone it back to the original with Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper! Files will be nicely aligned, bootcamp installable.
I wish I had time machine
No dropdown. I wish I had one.
*Shakes head sadly.
