I'm trying to work on a personal site, but I want to keep it simple, minimal, and with not a whole lot of content. In other words, I want to leave people wanting more.
Can you guys take a look and give me your thoughts? I'm thinking about trading out that grey background for something more graphical in nature, but the blue color scheme has to stay.
Thanks.

It seems like a default template for something.

for a graphic designer it's a 0 out of 10

dude. you are so confusing. a personal site, like a blog? or are you trying to sell yourself?
if you are trying to sell yourself, the idea of leaving someone wanting more is a bad idea. they will just leave. the web is like that. it is easy to leave.
it doesn't look like a designer had anything to do with it. looks like a wordpress site for a writer or something....

I would say: BACK TO SCHOOL

The layout is OK, but it looks very generic. Needs more sex.

not much 'concept' going on here to critique. is this a blog?

Looks like k2 Wordpress theme and CNN had a baby, which certainly leaves me wanting more but also wondering why I would choose to hire you.

Alright, I realize now that the design is somewhat sub-par from the comments above. I'm really trying to integrate the blog into my site though, and I'd like it to play a major role, but not be the only thing there. I still want to showcase my work, and I want to lead people into our design company (461).
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this better? I'm at a loss for creativity right now, and I want something simplistic and easy to manage.

maybe ease up on your facebook usage.

Looks templatey and corporate. You said it's minimal, but this isn't minimal. See my site or Mau's for a portfolio that's actually minimal. Less text, more work, please.
Get rid of the scratch thingy. It doesn't serve any purpose so far as I can tell.
