Might need to use firefox to view the Flash animation at the top in the link below, I did. Wont work in IE for me.
Any ideas how they created the animation of the water? It doesn't look like a video.

I'm on FF and I don't see anything.
If I were to make realistic water, I'd use displacement maps...
- What do you mean in 3D Studio or something?CygnusZero4
- No in Flash....fyoucher1

There is a Flash animation there, the problem is that it's on that web archive site since this is an old version of the Lexus site, and it seems many people cant get the Flash to work. I'm definitely seeing it though.

Looks like they have some javascript code for people w/o flash installed....too bad it isn't working.
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
var myFlashObject = new FlashObject("/assets/models/anchor/flash_movies/es_anchor.swf", "es_anchor", "778", "240", 6, "#E9E9DF");
myFlashObject.altTxt = '<img src="/assets/models/anchor/large_photos/es_anc_img.jpg" width="778" height="240" alt="" border="" /><br />';
myFlashObject.bypassTxt = "";
myFlashObject.write();
//-->
</script>

they animated the water by hand, overlaid shadows and highlights on top of the static water image. if you zoom in, you'll see animated vectors on top of the water
- Yeah I kind of figured that. But even aside from the little vector animations, there's something else going on.CygnusZero4
- I can see some sort of gradient bitmap moving. I need to make something like this. Going to be a pain.CygnusZero4

- Yeh, just vectors...fyoucher1
