I admire the egos on these people, it truly looks like they are desperate for someone to stalk them...
anyone will do... just read what I post... please?

"More than 60 per cent of Twitter users stop using the microblogging service after the first month, according to new figures from Nielsen Online."

I refuse to use twitter, and the reason why is because of the copious amounts of SPAM from strangers, asking me to FOLLOW them.
No, I don't know who you are, why would I be remotely interested in following you?

If this API is easy enough to get your head around then I could see twitter becoming less popular.
I think people will tire of twitter soon, and with them moving to charge for corporate accounts i think the magic will die when people realise the same can be achieved with facebook - where most people are anyway.

google as similar if not worse terms than facebook... and it seems pretty popular.

to me, the two are entirely different beasts. facebook is about identity, and twitter is about ideas. the appeal of twitter is the lack of obligation to keep up with what other people post, or just following them in general. if you ditch one of your contacts in facebook, it's like snubbing them in real life.
it's doubtful that facebook will become a legitimate CMS, or even a formidable opponent to twitter, with the current state of its terms of use agreement. right now, facebook owns all of your content. twitter is free to use your content to market themselves, but the ownership resides with the original user.
- that explains why my ex tried to stab metOki
- well, it was probably only part of the reason. ;)armsbottomer

as for people being sick of fb or twitter, they are just tools, they are what you make them.

With open stream though you can use facebook as a CMS. A store could open a new group on facebook and integrate all of the content (image uploads, status, user comments/feedback). I think it will play a huge role as the web continues to evolve.

First thing in my FB atm:

Paula took the quiz What Age Will You Die? and the result is You will die at age 80
You're pretty average when it comes to how you live...
And how you'll die as well.

interesting takes. I personally cannot deal with facebook much any more because it requires so much effort. And enough with the fucking "Susie has sent you a Big Balloon! Click Here to receive it!". I don't hate facebook, but it just isn't as efficient as Twitter is.

Facebook has found itself in the same place myspace was when FB came around.
That said, FB is still quite relevant.
