what's good there? a friend and i are staying at the wynn for a couple nights.
also, for the locals, my friend's recently single so some info on good bars/clubs to pick him up some young (non-pro) talent would be good too.

Vegas has turned into such a cookie cutter douchebag haven over the last 5 or 6 years. All the clubs are EXACTLY the same as each other. All you're going to hear is dj's playing machups, all you're going to see are fake tanned people in gothic print tshirts. So disappointing. I lived there for 9 years on and off, so I got to watch the whole thing turn into this sterile cesspool.
Double Down is definitely the most interesting place in town, also possibly the most dangerous. I'm into danger, btw. If you like Indian Food, Origin India is around the corner from DD and it's amazing. As far as places to go, Hard Rocks bars are always worth the trip. The clubs, eh... I can't think of one that I'd even recommend. All 'popular' clubs have rules where if you're a party of two, and both of you have testicles, there isn't much of a chance that you're even going to get in without greasing the door guy. I know, I was in the executive meeting when Body English (at the Hard Rock) opened and this was the exact rule they followed: 2 girls will definitely get in, 1 guy + 1 girl might get in, 2 guys will never get in.
I'll try to think of some places though. The Artisan was pretty cool for drinks but I think I heard that it closed. When I go back to visit we usually hit up the local bars.

Let me know what days you're going to be here and I can get you on the list for some spots. There are tons of really nice bars all throughout this city; really depends on what your definition of nice is as well. The "pro-talent" is almost impossible to avoid when you hit the big commercial spots, so you just have to be semi-smart when you're out.

Whats up man, I was just there this weekend. The top clubs are XS at Encore, LAX, and TAO (Bellagio I think). We had a bachelor party there, but we had so many guys, 2 should be able to get in but arrive early. For bars, MGM at the south end of the strip next to Mandalay Bay and NYNY has great combination of bars and restaurants inside. Rehab is cool on sundays, its like a club during the day with girls in bikini's if you want to stay longer and not leave early. Everyone has had great reviews of the place. The Bellagio Buffet is REALLY GOOD about 35 per person but a platefull of sushi and crab/lobster pays for itself in 1 plate. NYNY has a few pubs which are cool, never been to Wynn but I heard its fab. Try to see a show like KA or O, they are amazing. Stay away from crap places like Excalibur, Circus Circus, ect. In terms of strip clubs- Sapphire is the best and biggest. Hope that helps, enjoy!

I enjoy going to the old strip and taking photographs of old people playing (guerrilla style, security doesn't like it) that placed has stopped in time, you can get very cinematic shots if you go during the week when its dead.- Yea, on a Sunday I brought my video camera and just headed out to the desert for some awesome shots.malzone
