I may be heading to LA as well and I liked long beach a lot. Seems tons cheaper to live there and I kind of dug the relaxed vibe of the area I stayed at.
- try to get as close to the beach. the more north, the more ghetto :-) well, you got signal hill also. nice.akrokdesign
- yeah walked around signal hill while I was there. Worked at a coffee shop called portfolio. I have a friend who lives in the area and digs it.mightyj
- area and digs it.mightyj

pros: sunny, good shopping, great great food, pretty people, lots of opportunities, fresh sushi, point dume beach, the university of southern california, MOCA, the warehouse district, malibu.
cons: crazy expensive, 99% of population are crazy fake idiots, ed hardy, christian audigier, reality tv stars, you get used to heat - so 50 degrees F feels frigid, idiot drivers.
also, i hated it here for 3 years. now i love it. but still hate it a little sometimes. it's hard to explain.
- my sentiments exactlygabe
- expensive? compare to what?akrokdesign
- hah. i hate ed hardy, christian audigier, reality tv stars also.akrokdesign

the thing is you get used to it and zone out the stupid shit. my studio is on melrose and i cant even think of the last time i consciously recognized some ed hardy looking monkeyhead and got annoyed. it just doesnt phase you. esp. since you have to drive everywhere you dont really have to get stuck listening to peoples bullshit. The good thing about LA is the different social scenes are so distinct its extremely easy to avoid the ones you dont like.

hey fred, i'm on 5th and Hewitt, across from the Urth Cafe....pretty close to you.
- I love that cafeakoni
- Twooh, do you know of anywhere near me that I can find some cool shoes and BBall hats?
Really though, can u see the huge Manny sign from your place. Man, I hate Manny.frediscrazy
- frediscrazy0
Didn't post all of my reply - I'm closer to the jewelry district, just look for the huge Manny billboard, Never been to Urth - basically these days I'm inside working on my reel or at the 24 hr fitness on flower. Do u hangout downtown for fun or look elswhere? - u asshole.
(I don't really think u r a ahole - but I've been calling everyone else on this thread one, and I didn't want u to feel left out).
