What is the best brand of SATA Mac Pro hard drive to buy.
Looks like Samsung is the most reliable to me but also most expensive at $115 for 1TB.

you can also go with Hitachi Deskstar.

i wouldn't say there's a best, but i've had good luck with hitachi and western digital

Just received these last week for $80 each. The firmware should be fine (I haven't had a problem yet).

yeah, had a friend bitten by the seagate firmware issue, destroyed a whole raid array. i'm not much of a fan these days, had a a few too many fail. quality control seems to have gone downhill there
