In London today it's bright sunshine - but last week was calm grey clouds(perfect for staying in and looking at computer screen all day). Now the website I'm designing looks too dark - last week it was perfect. I've closed the curtains to make the room darker... but still my eyes are straining. And now on a lovely day I can't look out the window, feels odd to close the curtains on a beautiful day.
How do you design in when the sun is shining?
How do people manage in California etc?
Maybe I should take a break... until nightfall...

sorry...
seriously now:
just put a note on your website (on a place clearly visible) that instructs visitors to adjust their monitor's brightness. This also enables them to view the site in a way they prefer themselves and therefore ensures a more democratic user experience.consultancy fee applies..

Add a css selector for sunny and rainy days on you website, what changes the theme stylesheet from yellow+orange (sunny) to blue and dark green (rainy)...
seriosuly ;)
* Here in BC we´re on rainy theme till sept

You need to install your computer a certain distance of windows. And not with direct sun on it.

it is a lovely day in the capital today. I ate my sandwich at turnham green and watched some dudes practice Capoeira. (Unfortunately Chiswick is a bit light in the pretty lady department)

amateur. you need a script that reads the current light level from the macbook's own receptors and change site colour according to them. not that hard at all.
