Hello everyone,
I'm currently doing projects for UTILITY everything is going smooth. However, they sent me their logo guideline in .pdf
Now, I got all the elements I need from that .pdf file. However, there is this one logo that comes with poor resolution. Any ideas on how to resolve this?
Thank you.

rebuild it.

ok... I assume you got all the elements you need in vector format... and you have this raster image slapped in there all pixelated and it isn't god enough...
There's nothing you can, much less can we suggest what to do if we can't see what you are talking about.
Your options are to rebuild it / trace it, google it or check their site to look for a better option, brandsoftheworld, contact the client an ask
- Thats correct.hektor911
- That's not even CLOSE to all he can do. He can either demand the vector file, or leave it like shit and blame them.monospaced

tell them to send the freaking vector file already.

Thank you guys.... I've tried the call the client and he keeps sending the damn same .pdf file. He seems clueless to my requirements. I did the google search, the brands of the world search and nothing.

print page 6. scan it. use live trace on the logo. done.

tell him to now send a few options that are NOT that exact same pdf.
also tell him that he could ask someone else if he is not sure what a vector image is. And tell him not all images can be enlarged, meaning that if you don't get a vector file the logo won't look good ... you so you can already claim innocence coz if the logo sucks he'll just blame you even if he doesn't understand that regular logo image will be pixelated.
- thats right. I actually created a approval form where they sign off the use of this files.hektor911

That's not that hard to redraw.
You could use Univers (not helvetica) for the type as it is pretty similar. You got the utility logo file so that element wouldn't be an issue. The gray silver bg is not that hard to do.- Thanks VectorMasked... Thats what im doing. I was just wondering if there was a shortcut to avoid these cases.hektor911

ask them for another version

Dude, you do know that that logo is available as a black and white vector image on page 12? right?
All you'd need to do is match the colours, add shadows, gradients and done!

Couple of weeks ago I did some projects for the ARMY they also sent the guidelines in .pdf However, in this case there were only 2 elements that I was able to use the rest of them were just not helpful.
- Jesus... Can't wait till we can use small caps on the web ;o)VectorMasked

IF you do redraw their logo, you should tack it on as an extra charge. It is above and beyond the scope of the project and will take time. This happens so often, and it's not your job to recreate vector logos; it's their job to provide them.
