great Idea - wondering if anyone heard of the results of this actually being tested in developing countries?

I remember reading about this a while back, but haven't heard or seen anything about it for quite some time. It would be interesting to see field tests and some real documentation about it.

My only concern with this and don't get me wrong it is a brilliant and very scalable idea. But once the filters expire as all filters do generally after a few months what's to stop those with them not drinking from contaminated water and thinking that they are safe? I am sure there is a simple explanation but ideas like this seem great from the outset but the continued life sometimes is overlooked.

Stuff like this really bothers me, but I'll not go into it here. But giving "developing counties," the means and tools to solve these problems, has serious detriments to the interior development of said countries.
