if someone has already seen your work (website, pdf etc) - do you need to bring a printed portfolio to an interview?
- version30
it's nice to have a cv with you
- TheBlueOne0
I would bring it.

If you have it, sure. You never know when you have to sit with someone who has no access to a computer and doesn't want to find one.
- skt0
yes. they will likely want you to talk about your work, so it helps to have it with you.
- baseline_shift0
yes. If you do print work.
If you do web, it might be nice to bring a laptop with some pages up.

I once went to an interview for a design position where they assumed I was going to bring a laptop to do a presentation? I had my printed portfolio but no laptop.
Printed portfolio is always a must, what are you going to talk about if you don't have previous work examples?
- its not a must, i have never brought a printed portfolio, my focus is motion graphicswhiteout
- akrokdesign0

first interview is generally meet and greet with HR but you can always ask who you'll be interviewing with...
Having your CV with you is a good idea since you'll probably discuss your prior experience, I know I need it as a cue card. Bring another for the interviewer in case he doesn't have one, he can write notes on it and he'll keep it afterwards.
I've always brought my laptop, just in case... and you may not be able to get online on their wifi so be prepared for that.
oh and blow jobs usually work pretty good too.
- I've never met with hr first. usually 2nd to talk money.uberdesigner

would a power point of work be ok? - I have a wide range of work to show webdesign, advertising, large branding campaigns

i would assume they have it...and dont bring anything. then when they say, 'can i see your resume,' your face can turn red as you slowly realize that you will never get this job.
- scarabin_net0
wtf, that site has separate entrances?
ha ha
- scarabin_net0
weird, i made that last post in a different thread, then clicked on the title of this thread while it was still sending my post to the other one
