I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with Web Trends but they just overhauled their identity and have a new site. I'm curious to know what people think. Their colors used to be black and orange and they've tossed any identifying brand characteristic out the window...which is odd considering their success.

is it me, or does klavika look dated? i'm not just bitching, still a kickass font, but doesn't seem so contemporary somehow...

The whole site looks dated.

Here's their old logo:
I'm not saying it's the greatest logo but it had more personality than the new.
Also, I'm curious about how a company decides to rebrand. In this instance, they have chucked out everything for something entirely new. Given that they were pretty successful before the rebrand, I'm a little surprised. I suspect this has to do with a new VP, Marketing who wanted to put his own mark on the brand.
- I'm going to have disagree. I think the logo's are equally neutral. The new at least looks somewhat currentvoiceof

I guess when you are desperately trying to compete with free analytics from Google and you are charging people for an inferior product you will try anything.
Even if your Flash movie is nearly 3MB in file size.
FAIL!!!

I really like the Caecilia typeface (one of my faves) but the logo is all lowercase and in the site body copy the company refers to itself with caps on the "w' and "t" so that makes the all lowercase logo seem inappropriate. Also, I think a logo should be more than just setting the name in type.....
- at least caecilia is beautiful, they could've taken museo or similar crapjimbojones

the site is ok but that opening animation is terrible....
who would every watch it except the people who made it...and are surely stupid with pride about it....

strange....
the site look is simplified so much it looks a bit like those domain placeholder sites.
It's more brochure-esque and writing heavy than lots of 2.0 looking sites with nice video, etc.
Something about this site says template layout with tweeks and lots of meetings and copywriting.
the animation is like a powerpointless presentation, mystical and random, but obviously geared to decision makers, who are rarely technically oriented. Maybe it's supposed to be subliminal, running while they're talking on the phone and only slightly paying attention....
not sure why, but this site makes me not want to use webtrends, as it's clearly not aimed at the web developer tribe, but at the bosses who play golf and love anecdotes....

they should have gone with the WT/whitey angle
