I just want to create a page where the user submits the size of the garment they want, their details and address, then takes them to paypal screen with the correct amount on it.
Do I create my own form or is this part of paypal?
Are these easy to set up or a complete pain?
Someone with some experience would be greatly appreciated.
We have a merchant account already set up if that helps, getting through paypal's upselling for correct info is an inane task.
Thanks

setup a paypal account. use the account tools to create the button and additonal info selections (like size, postage, whatever) and use the code it spits out on your site. it's fucking easy as.

Why do they make it so fucking hard then?

it's not? if you find that hard then you're in the wrong game man. try using a shopping cart and online merchant who don't have preset tool to do this for you.
have you actually looked at their help pages?
i hadn't used them in a while and within an hour had 8 books on a client's website with 2 options for postage with the buy-now button.
maybe get a coffee and take a break first, then start afresh. you might just be wound up with it and missing the obvious. we all do it.
