I've just had a customer on the phone who says he loves the design work I've done for his website homepage and can I send it to his printer to be used on his brochure?
I've told him it will cost him, but how much is a fair price?
It took me about 10 hours to get the design looking right but. Im not really an illustrator but I drew the radio and other design elements and re-touched the shape of the sofa. The only original stock graphic was the wallpaper pattern.
See it here http://ashmoors.co.uk/index.php
I've got to call him back today, any advice would be appreciated.

Tell him he has two options, one is to use an upres of a screengrab of the actual site, which will only be able to be used small without looking extremely pixelled, or he can have it redrawn to use nice and large but it's a day and a half's work.
It doesn't look like a day and a half work but consider any extra hours management and boredom costs.

on our usual base rate that's £540 (assuming a 'day' is 6 hrs)
Sounds fair, but I doubt he'll pay that.

72dpi screen grabs are fine to print. Don't upscale them at all (in indesign or photoshop). Just make it CMYK, away you go. Done it loads of times. They don't look pixelated.

Are you laying out the pages in the brochure as well or is someone else doing that? Are you artworking it? If so then it's a separate job I would say 2 days work.
BTW the link to Internet Essentials Ltd is dead

Get a junior to do it for £150 per day?

Ask him how he wants to use it - does he just want a screen shot to show what the site looks like?
Or does he want his brochure to look like the site?If the first, then I would just take a screen shot and send it, no charge.
If not, explain to him and charge him what it would take to design a brochure (not much, I'd guess, given the simplicity of the site - you'd just be moving stuff around).
Either way, it doesn't look like it'd take long.

Sorry, there's a bit of confusion.
The brochure has been done, he just wants to change the cover.
He doesn't want a screen shot of the browser window. He wants me to supply all elements of the illustration so the printer can do him a layout for his front cover (yes, the printer...)
All illustration elements have been made in illy and bitmaps are available in high res.
