Hi QBN:
I found some freelance design work, but I need to write an agreement letter/proposal for the client. I am new to this, because all the other work I have done has been for family and friends, so I never needed an official proposal. Anyone mind pointing me in a direction where I can find some templates or examples? Or can any of you post some examples?
I will be working on 4 things for this company:
2 postcards/mailers
1 new business card design
1 press kit/binder thing (for architects to use)And I am choosing to charge by the hour.
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you are doing a basic SOW (Statement of Work). You can more or less bullet it out like you've done here, and assign appropriate costs. List any of your caveats as well. I.e. notification of additional hours required, receivables needed before work begins, turnaround time needed for revisions, and so on.

If oyu need to get particularly formal, especially if pitching a larger company, use a structure lke this:
1. Intro: thank you for this opportunity...
2. Overview of project (paragraph or 2)
3. Detailed bullets/costs
4. Links/samples of previous work
5. Closing thank you
