1. You must make it so the photographer can update folio images easily THEMSELVES.
2. SEO (depends on market and market position of photographer)
3. Be aware that art buyers LIKE thumbnails, and most photographers HATE thumbnails.
4. no SOUND, no matter what, especially using music without a license really communicates how you feel about copyright.....

I agree on the sound and updating images must be very very easy. Cant see why photographers would dislike thumbnails though... I think a happy medium between choosing between thumbs and fullscreen works... Have to say I think the site I selected at the start is the best for that: http://www.luigibussolati.com/

I still feel that Flash is a big don't due to SEO.
Art directors need to link pages to each other very easily... Google-bots just wont read individual flash pages.
