We've just spent an insane amount of money on a brand new opera house, so it would be nice if someone came to see it. But driving a car around Norway is very expensive :)

Where in Poland dibec? May is the best time to go there! I just came back from there, met my bro's fresh new daughter.
If you guys need any tips/contacts/pubs/clubs/accomod... let me know. My home town is Wroclaw, it's in the southwest. It used to be German (named Breslau) before WW2, there are some architectural gems there from that era.

Sorry, too much to put in a note. Last year we drove from Sopot in the North of Poland right down to Zakopane in the South. Absolutely brilliant. Krakow is a must see, only spent a few days there and it wasnt enough time. The chicks are hot. Roads are a bit nuts but if you dont use the imaginery third lane you will be ok.

norwegian highways are bad because theyre only one lane, and they take u thru/around mountains,
beautiful nature scenery, but takes forever to reach ur destination

avoid the limeys. they're total fruits.

I would definitely visit Helsingør, a bunch of miles north of Copenhagen (there's a nice 1-day ferry trip from the capital).
It's internationally known as "Hamlet's Castle". It's the setting of the famous Shakespeare's play, which derived from the tales of Saxus Grammaticus (a Danish scholar) in a book called "Gesta Danorum". At that time everything was written in Latin.

Poland! Polska!
Actually will be there in May. Exchange rate is not too shabby.
give it a "gander".

Some high-ways and crossings in Scandinavia have heavy toll-fares. For example, just the Øresund Brigde (crossing from Denmark into Sweden) is around €40, for a single car trip. If you have a trailer or you are driving a caravan, it soars high above the €100 mark.
- wow. this is the kind of tip i'm looking for.. thanks.lowimpakt

we did croatia, bosnia, slovenia etc last year by train. have been almost everywhere else including russia.
we'll be starting in the UK because we're taking our own car - we're down with the ferries.
the idea of heading north was inspired by johnathan meades...
