i love thrillist. i found out about cafe wa s through them, and it's my favorite restaurant now.
it's also great if you have a lot of female friends you take out to dinner often, and you want to make sure both of you are having new experiences

there's dailycandy, which i don't like as much but sends you daily txts, and i use filter LA to find out what bands are in town

Just looked at that site. the Vegas section looks like every other piece of shitty marketing around here. The suggestions for places to be are everywhere I avoid.
