I think Kelpie's right, people say that it doesn't matter but I think it does. Yes your work should speak for itself but if you hold the title of 'Senior Designer' over just plain old 'Designer', the perception is that you have more experience or that you have worked your way up the ladder with 'Senior Designer' status. And like Kelpie said this should have an impact on your salary in the future.
