flash to illlustrator

argh im having a headache.
trying to move a simple vector illustration from flash to illustrator but its dropping out some of the elements if i use copy and paste, is there another way to export the vectors and reopen with illustrator?
i normally dont have problems with C&P but this illy has dotted lines in it. think that might be the problem..
any ideas?

Ghetto solution: export layer by layer.
Also, avoid complicated and unnecessary symboling. Brake them down, and if you have to, group.

file > export > export image > select *.ai
ugh so annoying, ignore me!
