You know, frankly, I hardly do anything consciously toward being more sustainable. And I probably should.

Local and organic produce.
Our own herb garden.
Compact flourescent bulbs.
Shut power off at source when not in use.
Recycled everything. Shoes made from old car tires even.
Recycle everything.
Environmentally friendly detergents, soaps, etc.
We barely use our heat and our a.c.
Re-usable water bottle at work.
I drive a Civic Hybrid getting 45+ mpg to and from work.

I recycle all of my: plastic, paper, aluminum, cell phones, and electronics, I purchased CFL & LED lighting for my entire house a few years ago, I only use rechargable batteries, I only drink filtered water, I turn off the lights when I am not in a room, I traded my 8 cyclinder gas guzzler for a 4 cylinder car, only purchase eco-friendly cleaning products and supplies, preparing to invest in solar-power to run my entire house, re-insulated every wall and window in my home and I don't buy junk or useless shit.

I try to talk everyone out of using CFL bulbs, they contain mercury and cannot be expected to be disposed of properly by 100% of population. They are hi-freq strobes and their bad effects on health are being reported and studied.

i've got 3 chickens, 3 eggs a day - tho they've started eating their own eggs. Have my own veggie garden in the summer. have a quarter locally raised cow and half a locally raised organic pig in my basement freezer.

I have a solar hot water system, I'm getting a 1.5kw solar panel power unit in a few months at my house. I also have insulation etc. Is that what you mean?

If everyone would stop trolling QBN, we we would collectively save millions of dollars a year on power consumption.

living is quite sustainable but i have a creeping suspicion it may not continue indefinitely.

place full of CFLs and I unplug things once I'm done using them (not many people know that turned off devices still plugged in consume energy) I turn off the heater at night and whenever i'm gone. i see it in the electric bill too
