Well in London everyone says Sorry, or if that does not work you will most lightly get stabbed in the head.

get a whip & whip the people when they bump into you.
or just walk around naked, and DONT shave your back or ass.
then you will find nobody will bump into you.

the person that bumped into you probably moved here 3 months ago and thinks he/she owns the place...or you moved here 3 months ago..and think new yorkers give a shit.

People are really nce in New York. The ones that get upset on the street are the ones who don't know how to walk in crowds. Sorry, but unfortunately that's probably you.

NYC is not that crowded. Tokyo is crowded. Whenever I come back from Tokyo, I realize how slow and less crowded NYC is compare to Tokyo. Oh, I heard India is even more crazy and a lot worse. It's all relative.
I don't want to generalize but I would rather live in NYC where people are more liberal and smarter than other places in the country where people are just so _______.

Another thing that makes me mental is the rudeness of the subway drivers who yell "pull your bags out of the door" and scold people for holding the door. MTA employess are some of the rudest NYers of all. Sorry just had to rant on that.
- Really? So you think it's ok for one selfish moron to hold up a thousand people because he's late?Nairn
- last time I was there was during a Level Orange Subway terrorist attack warning. It was impossible to get a cab so the subway was extra crowded.fooler2
- subway was xtra crowded. My friend had a baby stroller and we couldnt figure out how to use the turnstile door.fooler2
- the people working there and people standing around were absolutely NO HELP!fooler2
- All I am saying is MTA employees need to "politely" get the point across.....chuparosa
- the MTA employees don't owe you an ounce of courtesy. Pull your fuckin' bags out the door you asshole and stop delaying my fucking trainmonospaced

I almost got killed for reaching for the parmesan cheese and red chili flakes at a NYC pizzeria off of someone else's table.
On the West Coast it's kind of a free for all for those things once someone has used them and started their meal.
- you gotta ask to use my oreganoblog
- it was one of those "can I use these" as I reached and were already in my hand" and they guy said something like...fooler2
- "people have been killed for less here". I think he knew i was a drunk touristfooler2
- ...like???blog
- which pizzeria?blog
- who knows which one. They're like Starbucks in Seattle. One on every block.fooler2

New Yorkers are usually tired, stressed out and in a hurry because they are always waiting in lines or held up by a sea of people in front of them. They don't always have time or the interest in coddling your feelings. But if you ask nicely they will always help you with directions.

Bumping isn't the only rude behavior in NY. Many people are very inconsiderate and rude. And said behavior is not just from NYers.
Also, to all those obedient parents out there....please correct your children's rude behavior. I have encountered many out of control teens on the subway......

You know what we do to be rude in Detroit?

I listened to podcasts once about Canadians who moved to New York. One guy liked it at times, but eventually hated how crowded it was. And apparently the Subway is absolute filth.
(of course, everyone claims NY is one of the greatest places to live, so I'm just saying one point of view that I have received).- The subway is a lot cleaner than it was in the 1980s. Even the Mayor rides it, and he's a billionaire!boobs
- It's probably different from the city he lived in previously. Nearly every woman has been harassed in some mannerjuhls
- on the subway system. Disgusting stories...juhls
- That last sentence was about NY, not "the city he lived in previously"juhls
- My wife said the subway smelled like "blood and Metal" and our NTC friends said "that's exactly what it is"fooler2
- nyc subways are clean now relative to how they were in the 70's and early 80's. but they are putrid compared to other major cities transit systems.Faction18

Suck it up, at least people tend to be a lot more honest in NYC.
