Also be cautious of when people say the word "simple" ... sometimes it can equal "cheap"
"hey! I just need something simple done really fast"
= translated to = "give me a great design at your cheapest price and I want it done chop chop .. no reach around for you and I am still not satisfied while I have you bent over"- beethoven's fifth is really simple but they didn't write itscarabin_net

I find that sending people to your website, or at least a sample PDF, helps weed out some of the nightmare clients ahead of time. I think they think your work looks too expensive or too minimal or too "nice" for them... it probably is.
I say "sometimes", because we all know about the best-laid plans of mice, as Slotty Barpfast says.

hopefully you hear these warning signs before getting into the project and cease any contact with them.

"I want something outside the box".
Cripes.
- If you say "outside the box" it means you are trapped in one. Think about it.baseline_shift

I once had a Nashville client say to me "I'm no homo but when I walk into a room I know how it should look. I have an eye for design." Those were my dark days in the South.
