i live in mtl. most ppl here pay pretty bad for freelance from my experience. it's nicer to earn USDs right now anyway.
and yes the best poutine is at La Banquise..there's no competition.

Freelance there is a lot of opportunities, but try to apply or look for a very specific area, for example promotional product associations, paintball, NGO's

brains, job climate is pretty good. very useful if you're bilingual. but a lot of companies are downsizing a bit and only hire freelance. couple of my clients did exactly that. so freelance = good. full time = could be better... unless you work for the government ... which is pretty much just the CBC.
