Heya, think I might have to get one of these shits this wknd.
would it be a better deal to get the 2.4 GHz and get a bunch of RAM or 2.53 GHz with some RAM? I mean, It's only .13 GHz difference, right?
I do graphics and stuff. So, lots of PS, Illustrator, Flash, etc..

hmm...yeah, probably not a big difference in speed. definitely MAX the RAM. either way.

50 bucks more for a 7200 HD instead of 5400. thats better. the 7200 are about 33% faster. :-)

- not really, I always get 7200's but don't think it's a huge difference anymoreraf

A good rule of thumb with technology is to always go with the slower and cheaper model.

They had my order wrong and gave me extra RAM instead of the extra HD I asked for. Could've been worse, but I did buy RAM myself from somewhere else and now it's gathering dust.

I would go with a better CPU...you can always upgrade your memory (RAM) latter on.

If you want RAM I can sell you mine if its compatible, I bought it for my Powerbook that I am not using... long story. Good stuff though.

Don't buy directly from Apple in the first place, find a reseller that gives you a discount, and if still possible - avoid sales tax.

i wanted to brag.

- I went big, too.Jnr_Madison
- and good for us.search
- i'm jealous, i've only got 2.4 ghz and 4GB of 667mhz ddr3 ramipissexcellence

the thing about going with the cheaper choice is. and this is what decided for me.
whenever the computer is chuging or stalling or whatever you are gonna ask yourself. is this because i took the slower model, the fast one would not act like this. haha every time you would ask yourself that question

i had 2.8 but sent it back and now have 2.5, not much diff, just a little. Heat was crazy from 2.8 and 7200hd.
