If you are healthy get some solo insurance, very basic and call it a day. If you have medications and often get sick then really look into what type of plan will work for you, usually a health-plan that is specific to the state you live in will be cheaper then a huge health care company.

been a member for 2 years. great experience so far.
i pay $120 a month for medical and dental
- That's pretty interesting and definitely the cheapest of all the alternatives I've seen. Those deductibles are pretty high and $500 a year for dental isn't a lot though.MondoMorphic

My wife and I got a policy when we first got married. They stopped offering it years ago, but they keep honouring ours. It’S got dental (I have terrible teeth) optical, and basic hospital. I guess the system is different here in AU.

@mr 100,
damn thats nice...They don't do that in Australia anymore - which is a pity because going to the dentist here is fucked up..the waiting lists and bills are quite horrifying. Fortunately I havent needed any work done yet..
But I think private health cover is much cheaper in australia than the states and we have so medicare to cover our asses lol

Dental insurance, I've found, doesn't cover much of anything.
