ha, you know what, i think that might be it. i just tried that and it appears to be the case. i was pulling from the middle and holding down option in order to expand from middle. now i feel like a dunce.

Is one the fill and one the stroke?
I've never heard of this before.
Do you have a legit copy of the software?
- fiver0
all fill.
it didn't used to do this, but i feel like i hit something that is making duplicates at all times now. it drives me insane!

does anything change when you zoom out?

Try the classic "toss the prefs" and reboot.

it's not about the look, it's more about the technical side. if i move a point, i'm still leaving a point below it. basically i have to delete the triangle in order to have a single triangle. it's giving me six points on a triangle. maddening. i'll try the toss the prefs when i have a chance, thanks for the advice.
- when you have the chance?
it takes less time to do that than to mess around with duplicate triangles.monospaced - too much going on to shut down right now. and it was something i was reminded of at the time, not a critical issue. thanks.fiver

Are you holding <alt> when making the shapes? Maybe it's interpreting the <alt> as duplicate rather than expand from centre in this case?
- but that shouldn't duplicate it, it should just draw from the center.monospaced
- Exactly but alt/option also duplicates when you're not resizing. Sometimes Illy gets confused I think. Also it may be the order in which you click the buttons?pylon
- misreading the order of your buttons being clicked? I dunno.
Trash prefs anyway just to be sure.pylon
