Just curious, how many here have made the switch to AS3 at this point? How many are still using AS2?

I use as3 exclusively. Like acescence, I can't remember as2 (editing old projects is a horrible experience).

on my first project with it. Besides looking up equivalent syntax, things are going smoothly. Seems like performance is a nice change finally :) This helped a lot: http://actionscriptcheatsheet.co…

i am very reticent to make the move...'cause i do not consider myself a good AS 2 coder.
I still need to check some tutorials to make the "things" work well, and the idea of throwing the little i know about flash actionscript is scaring as hell.
Maybe I'll start checking some tuts and give a try...- but AS3 overall makes more sense, as it isn't ad hoc like AS2, and AS3 knowledge can be applied to other languagesacescence

I juggle both but I don't know them that well

One problem I've had is figuring out the syntax for certain timeline stuff. I never used AS2 in a true OOP way so trying to transfer that lack of knowledge over was somewhat tough. The hurdle of no real need for instance names baffled me for a while, but once you modify your coding ways AS3 wil come pretty quickly.

i have the lastest pirated software, but dont use it

I've seen a few converters about the place
http://www.5etdemi.com/blog/arch…But I've not given them a go yet. Is there a standalone converter anywhere for Mac? Surely the good folks in Adobe would have had the courtesy to knock one together for us?

I'm on as3 since 4 months. Smooth transition and not looking back at all.

I'm in the process of learning it.

I switched to AS3 a few months ago, it just seems to make more sense. Looking back at AS2 now, it just seems more hackish.

This AS3 stuff is really starting to click with me:)

AS3 = Black, and once you go black you never go back
