i hate when people say this to me but it seems like it would be possible to make this site in html... maybe if it was, the load times wouldn't be such a big issue. and the text wouldn't alias as much. could be made easily in indexhibit perhaps.
nice work tho :)

no its cool.
The only reason I used flash, was to show potential agency, that I knew flash...
but it ended up making my site a bit longer to load.Although it doesnt matter because I had 2 job offer from 2 very big agency's and I got a job at another place because of this site.
But thanks everyone for the reply's, I wanted to see what good designers thought of my work. I really just like the fine art's - but graphics is good to make money and bleach your asshole with.

Nah, not all of us eat mc donalds.
But there is so many designers out there, so many portfolios, so many websites, generally speaking that got used to reduced loading times, so you tend to expect the same from every site we visit, if doesnt, there is a really high chance people are going to close it and keep going. And I mean all this in the best way. When you see those loading times these days you expect music or video you know what I mean?
5, 10 years ago waiting online was normal, and although it took longer times, we though it was really fast, but as technology advances, we all got used to newer faster standards.
I do agree, maybe these days people can't wait for anything, maybe everything is a race, I agree about slowing down and smell the roses, but looking a a loading bar is not my idea of slowing down :)

WTF is up with your loading time?
- Mantistwo0
No i understand.
I build my flash with HUGE jpegs. But we all need to slow down before you know it will be over and you will have a preloader tattooed into your forehead.
- Mantistwo0
I like to wait along time for my stuff... longer the better...
- epikore0
I like your site, but the load time.....

Nice work...I like the simple design too. Seriously though, what everyone else said..the load times are off the hook. Must be setup strange, cause it shouldn't take that long to load.
Here is a good example of the same type of setup with much faster load times...
Your using enormous jpg's? Maybe try PNG's instead.

it looks like something that someone who went to school with someone's ex wife would make
- Mantistwo0
Home cooked meals, over microwave garbage.... Vinyl records over - mp3 laser capitalist blood bath music. I want the wait.... the longer the bettter... I will wait my whole life.
- rupedixon0
the point is that with load times like these the user is entitled to expect more content/interaction than simple images.
It's not a fair exchange, and in reality you try telling a busy CD to be patient when all he wants to do is see your wares. Sadly they'll just close your site and assume you didn't know what you were doing - not necessarily fair, but just the way it is.
I like the layout, it's clean and unfussy, I feel the project descriptions are not necessary- I'd lose them if I were you, let the work speak for itself. I'm not entirely convinced by the photographs of monitors, they get in the way of the detail, and distort the design work, I find the moire patterns make the design feel as though it is unresolved too.
On the whole I like it, I think you've done well.
- Mantistwo0
Thanks.... well I have been offered 3 jobs because of this site... I dont think CD's are closing the site because of loading times...
if they really like your work, they will wait... and if they cant wait I really dont care...
- gabe0
yeah, there's definitely an issue with loading times. 900k for 6 small JPGs seems a bit excessive...
your work however is nice and the site itself is pleasant and lets the work speak for itself. i appreciate all the detailed project descriptions and you explaining your roles, but it's a little boring (and kind of insulting) to describe *exactly* what it is your viewer is looking at though, i.e.
"...the title is isolated inside a coloured bar and positioned on the top right of the main photo to give it that professional organized look..."
"...the type is set in 9pt futura with a colour of cool grey. you also have a picture of another car in the far bottom right corner..."
- yeah I would ditch these, thought the same thing myself.doesnotexist
- Mantistwo0
I see thats cool..
I just wanted to explain what my mind was thinking...
thats all
- Milan0
The descriptions of each slide are way too long and just filler:
"This is an example of the new type. Its set in 0.9em Georgia with a colour hex of #666666. A colour I use frequently in elegant body copy."
Who gives a shit what the font size and color is?
"Here you have more of the body copy. I don't have much to say about this, beside that I like the shot of the copy on this angle. "
WTF is the point of this?
Also, taking a photo of a shitty website at an angle doesn't make it any better.
I like the layout of your site though.
- Mantistwo0
hahaha, your an asshole! thanks!
- Mantistwo0
I like the feed back though... Designer are hilarious people.
- rupedixon0
honestly - this is getting ridiculous
thxbye
