Here's my stream, what is yours...
and for those who aren't using Dropular yet, say something witty... ridiculously witty, so good that I'll feel obliged to send an invite to your way, or you can just beg until someone else does that.

The last thing we want is another round of people begging for invites for sites which are essentially links to other sites. What's wrong with finding your own inspiration.
If we all just view the likes of dropular, ffffound and so on... No wonder design/aesthetics are becoming homogenised.

That's the purpose of this, to piss off people.. and myself (eventually), I was never going to give out invites anyway (all out here... note this, please, pleading motherfuckers)

I just don't get these kind of sites. They are put together like magazines, having a registered set of reporters, who have been picked for their design eye. However, there is no contextual info or any critical analysis of the work posted.
Sites like dropular / ffffound are lacking any kind of intellectual rigour and are sold on the idea of being part of the elite little club who are there to dictate to the rest what the current trends are.
I don't know what all the fuss is about. Most designers are creative enough to find their own inspiration and really should give a toss about trends anyway ('cos this is just following the crowd). So, in that respect, such sites are a bit patronising.

Also, I have noticed lots of this cropping up on the qbn front page...
Via Public Voice
and
A Krop Pro
This is stuff which is being posted on the public voice and krop and ending up on the front page...

I'm not a designer so maybe it's me, but
you ask for intellectual rigour on the internet? better to read a good book
I find photographs by people I have never heard of through ffffound and discovered beautiful bodies of work hosted on personal websites

I think you're looking too much into it, stem. All interesting thoughts, but not the reasons why I use these sites.

dropular had an open invite to the beta test, so there was no clique or elitism
