Cinema 4D particle emissions

In my latest inexplicable software issue, I cannot stop an emitter from showing particles in any way.
I can't do it by Stop Emission settings, end scale, visibility or by animating the texture of the particle items themselves.
Also, I cannot even see them in the editor. I know this isn't default behavior. I have them set to Visible in Editor and Renderer. The only way I can see them is if I render a frame or quicktime.
I will accept any method of getting them to stop, fade, shrink or die. I'm kind of desperate here. I only have until Friday.

as far as getting to see the textured particles in the viewport, try enabling enhanced open gl for your camera view. enable transparency too just under that. you've got some transparency in the materials for all that text there and i don't think that's a viewable thing in the viewport using standard GL shading.

stop emission works for me here. just dial in the frame you want the particles to stop. not sure how it's not working for you.
try adding a display tag to your emitter. in that tag you can enable "visibility" and keyframe it from 100 to 0%

I tried keyframing visibility from 100 to 0 in the Particle tab of the emitter settings, but it would only keep one value at a time even though I could see the change in the timeline curve.
I recreated the emitter and was able to see ticks for particles and I'm fine for now, but something must be wrong.

try adding a 'display tag' to the emitter (in the object window)
then activate the 'visibility' track
set levels from 100 to 0 (or whatever opacity you want to end up on)btw- in your file, the particles from the emitter naturally die out around frame#425 for me.

also to note- you always have to move the timeline playback head to the absolute very first frame of your animation to see particles in action. then press play and watch; or scrub through your timeline.

Thanks. Now that I can see the particles, I'm opting to let them die out rather than fade. I will check out the display tag too.
