I'm sure everyone has heard about the nearly 150 - 500 estimated people that got stuck on an ice flow in Lake Erie?
Watch this video, and listen to the sheriff that comes on in the interview at about midway through. Is it me or is this guy just a total self-serving asshole? Saying if he were there there would be 150 arrests because these people were basically idiots, not "professional" fisherman, and that it was a total waste of taxpayer money when the whole country is hurtin.'

That is a waste of taxpayer money. They didn't need to be out that far. Ice that thick doesn't crack out of nowhere. These people ignored plenty of warning signs. The sheriff does sound like a dick, but that doesn't mean he's wrong.
