how do you follow up to a resume?? I mean, when you call, you'll get the front desk person who's mission is to tell you to fuck off.
As nice and amiable as I am to them, they rarely put me through to HR. They give you the obvious, "If there's an interest, they'll call you." REALLY? I thought they'd call me even if there weren't an interest. Thanks for the info, buddy! (obviously, I don't say that– BUT I THINK IT!) Or, if they're especially snobby, they'll tell you that the ad reads, "No phonecalls."
Despite that, everybody says you MUST follow up. What tips do you have for getting past the front desk, and what has worked for you?

if you are pushing the buttons of a company even b4 your in the door id advise you to calm down relax and just keep sending out your resume... no phone galls means they will contact you if interested end of story... unless you know someone in the company dont push that button, unless you are worth the hassle-hoff...
you follow up an interview... you send out your resumes... different things..

- well, my friend. you can break the 'rules' if you know and understand them. this was done on purpose as evident by the curve tweaks causing them to 'interact' with each other.artbum

besides, you'd be surprised; the times I did get through, the HR person was really nice. They usually are, or I suspect they'd be bad HR reps.

following up is okay as long as you don't sound desperate
