I was shuffling through a really old stack of CDs this past weekend in my parents' garage, and I came across a couple of old backup CDs from my yesteryears as a burgeoning designer in high school.
Just thought I'd share this, and see if anyone else wanted to share their firsts as well (if you still have copies, that is).
This was an ad I created from scratch in PS for a local newspaper.

My first design was designing my school logo when I was about 10 or 11. Its still in use, on the schools signs, books and uniforms.
I got a book voucher for £20 for job.

wait first personal design? (like stuff you designed in high school)
or first college design?
or first paid/produced design?

Anything, whatever your first design was that you were proud of I guess. At the time, I thought this was the hot shit, since everything was made from scratch.

In High school made a NO PARKING sign for a Gourmet Store. Letters handrawn with compass etc on tracing paper, then transferred to a white board and then painted.
Took forever. Looked pretty good.

My first design came before desktop publishing hit the scene. Traditional mechanical boards with ruby overlays and linotype. But you young-bucks probably have no clue as to what I'm talking about.
