  I have a button made that, when moused over, displays some text. I want to duplicate the button, then edit the text. But it seems that the nested comp changes on the original too.

  Is there a quick way to duplicate buttons and then change the nested text independently?

  assign the text with script...

  btn1.textvar = "Something";
  btn2.textvar = "Something else";

  of course this assumes a lot of other things are in place such as the text field is a dynamic textbox, etc.
